Who We Are

This website, https://www.brainstainddev.com (the "Site"), is run by Brainstain'd Development, the creative work of author Robert Cox ("we," "us," or "our"). The Site hosts the story worlds Travelers — Tears of the Stars and Genetic Re-Birth.

Information We Collect

Site Analytics and Cookies

The Site is hosted on Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace may collect standard technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, and the time of your visit. Squarespace also uses cookies and similar technologies to run the Site, keep it secure, and give us aggregate analytics (for example, how many people visited a page).

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

Contact and Newsletter Forms

If you submit a contact form, newsletter sign-up, or similar form on the Site, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message. We use it only to respond to you or, if you signed up, to send you the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe from any mailing at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Tips Through Ko-fi

Our support page (/travelers/support) links to Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/brainstainddev), where you can leave an optional tip. Tips are processed entirely by Ko-fi and its payment partners. We do not see or store your card or payment details. Ko-fi may share limited information with us, such as your name or display name, email address, the tip amount, and any message you choose to leave.

Our YouTube Upload Tool ("travelersyt")

We operate an internal tool, registered with Google Cloud as "travelersyt," that helps us upload and manage videos on our own YouTube channel, @BrainstaindDevelopment.

What it does: The tool uses Google OAuth to sign in to our own YouTube account. It is used only by us, to upload and manage our own videos (for example, titles, descriptions, and related video settings).

What data it accesses: It accesses only the data of our own channel, @BrainstaindDevelopment, as needed to upload and manage our videos. It does not access data about other YouTube users or channels.

Storage: The tool stores no third-party user data. Any Google account data it handles relates only to our own channel.

Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transfer Google user data to anyone.

Limited Use: Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy

The tool uses YouTube API Services. By interacting with content made available through YouTube, you are also subject to:

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site

  • Respond to your messages and requests

  • Send updates you have asked to receive

  • Acknowledge and thank supporters who tip through Ko-fi

  • Upload and manage videos on our own YouTube channel

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that run the Site and related services (such as Squarespace and Ko-fi), as described in this policy, or when required by law.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. For example, we keep messages as long as needed to respond and follow up, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Squarespace's practices. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time (see "Your Rights and Requests" below).

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights and Requests

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, or to object to how it is used. To make any request, email us at brainstainddev@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

For information held by Squarespace, Ko-fi, YouTube, or Google, you may also need to contact those services directly or use their account settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back periodically.
